Free Sound Record is a pretty basic sound recording app. You can use it to record sound from your microphone, sounds being played on your computer and even use it to record streaming broadcasts from the Internet like radio shows or Shoutcast. You're also able to record playback from other software producing sound on your PC such as Winamp, Windows Media Player and from external sources like a tape deck, LPs or VCRs.
While it is a free program, it was a little disappointing to see what you could only record in a few formats being WAV, MP3 or WMA. Though all formats are fine, it might have been nicer to have a few more. Either way, this software is a great basic audio capturing program.
